When Life Becomes Overwhelming
Stretches of the human journey seem like more than we can handle. If your life feels extremely full—either with good stuff, bad stuff, or just too many commitments, people, responsibilities and emotions—ask an Angel of Mercy to help you take a time out.
During that time out, perhaps 15 minutes each day, think about what you can take off your plate, postpone, delegate, or ask a loved one, coworker or health-care provider to assist you with. Remember that you may be carrying more than you are comfortable with, but everyone experiences this sensation, temporarily, from time to time. Look for ways to support and nurture yourself. Eat right, get enough rest, stay in touch with friends, laugh, play, find a way to process your emotions, and keep on top of your physical and emotional health. Above all stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel. This comforting, practical prayer should help:
Angels of Mercy, bring respite to my weary body, mind and spirit. Send helpful people and opportunities to me now that will lighten my load. Send your loving, calming energy to steady my nerves and revive my spirit. Send your wisdom to show me the best way to handle this busy time, and the best way to get the support I need.
