In a society that is charged with never stopping and always working hard, many of us forget to pause and focus on self-care. This can be detrimental to our mental and physical health in the long run. It is so incredibly important to listen to our bodies and connect with ourselves in order to be the best version we can be.

However, how we go about self-care can be completely different. Each zodiac sign will find comfort and relaxation in very different ways. From spending time working out to quiet baths at home, here is what you can do to take care of yourself according to your sign.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

The aries are high energy beings, so the best way to unwind is by getting up and moving. Exercising outdoors where you can feel the sunshine can be extremely cathartic. Movement through running, biking, dancing or the like can give you a great adrenaline rush. It is important, though, to make sure that you don't let your competitive side take over or else you will miss out the benefits of the released endorphins.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

The taurus is a hard working individual and that makes them forget to stop and take a breath sometimes. The best self-care for you will be something that includes a lot of relaxation and any activity that helps you connect to your body. This can include a long bubble bath, a professional massage, or a relaxing nap in a hammock in the trees. By allowing yourself to take things slow you will be able to reset.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

A gemini likes to multitask, which makes it hard for them to relax because they always have a hundred things running through their mind. They forget to let their selves enjoy life and not worry about their to-do list. If you are a gemini, the best way you might relax is by forcing your mind on a specific task. This may include working on a puzzle, a fun competitive game with friends, or an exercise class might just do the trick.

Cancer (June 21-Julu 22)

Cancers are loving people that enjoy taking care of others. When it comes to self-care, it might be helpful to think what kind thing you would do for a friends. Maybe you take your friend out for lunch every Saturday, for example. Why haven't you done the same for yourself on a bad day? Cancers are also ultimate homebodies, so simply spending time reading in your own bed will help you recharge as well.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Leos are the wild fire sign. They are hardworking, take pride in their accomplishments, and always are on the go. Even the most energetic leo though has a finite amount of energy, though. Therefore sometimes self-care might simply be taking a nap. Since the leo is so focused on work, it can also mean going out with friends and getting drinks just for the fun of it. Make sure to listen to your body and do what feels right.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

A virgo loves to live in a nice, neat and relaxing environment. Therefore yourself care might mean cleaning up around the house and making it a place you feel safe and secure at. You could go through your old clothes and declutter your space, or if that sounds too overwhelming, you could pick a DIY project and get your creativity on. Designing something that you can hang up on your wall will make you feel proud of yourself and also be fun.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

A libra does well when in a stable routine, and therefore yoga could be a great option for self-care. Going through a set of movements in a specific order will help your mind feel at peace and balanced. It will give you the opportunity to get out of your own head and focus on your breath. It's best to try and do some self-care alone as well, because though you are social sometimes being with other people all the time can be draining for you.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Scorpios have a lot of pent up, emotional tension. The goal of self-care for a scoprio should be releasing that in a cathartic way. Since you don't mind being alone, consider jamming out to your favorite sad songs in your room. Drama, art and therapeutic talks with people you trust are also great ways to soothe your soul. Being a water sign, you also will find relaxation being by bodies of water. You can try taking a walk by a lake or river to get back in the flow of things.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

The sagittarius is always on the move and trying to expand their minds. This can make it hard for them to sit down when it comes to self-care, but it is possible. Try picking up a book that will challenge you or going on a trip to a new or exotic place. In these situations you will be able to enhance your creativity and start to feel inspired again. Since the sagittarius likes challenges, sometimes trying to sit still in a meditative state can be a beneficial activity.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Capricorn's are ambitious and at times, making them a little too stiff and self-composed. Playfulness should be incorporated in your self-care routine. Furthermore, being an earth sign it can be great to be to take that outdoors. Go on a hike with a group of friends, play hide-and-seek with your young cousins, or the like. Capricorns also get very overwhelmed when their to-do list gets too long, so relaxation might mean taking small chunks out of tasks to clear your mind.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

The intelligent, socially independent aquarius will want to do their self-care routines alone because it's where they feel the safest. They love to learn and explore their passions. This is great but self-care sometimes is about changing up the environment you are in. If you are an aquarius, try inviting one other person to go with you to a volunteer event, a museum, or a local art show. It will give you a chance to connect with others where you don't normally.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

The pisces has strong and powerful emotions, so self-care can simply be letting out a big cry for you. Instead of pushing away your emotions or feeling shameful about them, choose to embrace what you are feeling. Process the things you are going through and move through your emotions in a healthy way. Don't spend too much time in your head dreaming and not taking any steps forward. Self-care means forcing yourself to take an action.

The way we go about our day and treat ourselves is different. Make sure you are listening to your soul and doing what is right for your body, no matter what way that is.
