If you're looking for an easy way to start making a little bit of side income right away, surveys are a great way to do it! You won't get rich off of surveys, but they are so nice to have when the budget gets tight and every dollar counts.

Back in the beginning of our marriage -- when we were living on a beans and rice budget -- I made a small side income every month from taking surveys. During that time in our marriage, every penny mattered. Even though the surveys were time-consuming, I was encouraged to see money start trickling in from them. It definitely wasn't enough to pay our bills, but it was something -- and something is better than nothing!

Sell Your Clutter

If you've been wanting to clean out your home and simplify, another quick and easy way to make money is by simply selling your stuff. This is a double incentive! You get a more manageable home that brings peace and order to your life, plus you get to make money off of it!

If you have a difficult time de-cluttering and have a tendency to want to hold on to everything, here are five questions you can ask yourself about clutter that will make the process a little easier. I personally think yard sales are an easy and effective way. Save the bigger, more expensive items for eBay, and sell your clothing to online or local consignment stores.

There are many great options out there for selling your clutter: For instance, Craigslist, yard sales, and Facebook Yard Sale Groups are a great place to sell exercise equipment, appliances, and furniture. Books are very easy to sell on sites like Half.com, Cash4Books.net, or Amazon.com. Consignment stores and consignment sales are great places to sell clothes and kid’s and baby items.

Think about what you consider yourself to be an expert at and how you could potentially offer those services online. Could you work as a virtual administrative assistant, consultant, tutor, counselor, transcriptionist, web designer, tech guru, social media manager, project manager, photo editor, app developer, or teacher?

A great place to start is by signing up as a freelancer on Upwork.com. This is a huge database for people looking for help with specific jobs they need done. Simply fill out your profile with the types of skills you have and services you offer, and you will become a part of the database. You get to control who you work with and what types of projects you take on. It's a great way to get started, network, fine-tune your skills, and gain some experience.

Start a Blog

I believe blogging to be one of the most approachable and profitable ways for just about anyone to make money from home. The market is full of endless possibilities.

Blogging is easier and harder than you may think. It's easy because it requires very little cash outlay upfront, you don't need a degree or certification, the field is wide open, and the profit margins are high. On the other hand, setting up a successful blog that makes a part-time or full-time income will only be the result of massive amounts of effort, determination, consistency, and perseverance.
