Set Aside a Period of Time
There are times when you just need to be an adult, suck it up and say, “I have to do this even though I don’t want to.” It takes a lot more energy trying to avoid doing something you need to do than actually doing it. What about making an agreement with yourself that every morning or evening, say between 7 and 8, you’re going to work on your project. Be sure to reward yourself after you’re done. Another alternative is to set a timer and tell yourself you will do your task — exercise, cleaning, studying, etc. — for that period of time.
