Get Ready to Make Someone Happy
Have you ever felt like there was more to life than just you? I am joking, but there is some truth to this. Living outside ourselves makes us happier and serving others makes is healthy, too! Things like writing a note, making a meal, helping a single mom out, or paying for someone’s coffee behind you in line—it all can make someone’s day! May you think there is nothing you can do-- maybe you’re an all or nothing kind of person. All you need is one bread crumb to start. Did I mention it is good for you as well give? Sure is. The Paradox of Generosity author Christian Smith wrote “generosity is powerful. Money, volunteering, being generous, being a generous neighbor and friend, and personally valuing the importance of being a generous person are all significantly, positively correlated with greater personal happiness, physical health, a stronger sense of purpose in life, avoidance of symptoms of depression, and a greater interest in personal growth.”
