No Voice or Action is Too Small
On March 21, 1965, 3,200 marchers departed to Montgomery. After 12 miles of walking per day, and sleeping in fields, on March 25th the march grew to 25,000 people. The selfless act of marching helped increase public support and in 1965 the U.S. Congress passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 - the act was one of the most expansive pieces of civil rights legislation in American history.
