Suddenly, Coolidge is cool!
Coolidge had deep convictions and a wry wit. Although the Presidential staff was but a fraction of the size it is today, Coolidge was asked how many people he had working for him at the White House, writes Jack Kenny in the New American magazine. "About half of them," Coolidge replied. Once a senator complained to the President that colleague had told him to go to hell. "I looked up the law, Senator," Coolidge replied, "and you don't have to go."
