Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS Shoes, had a modest upbringing in Texas. After building, and selling, a booming laundry business to service an unfilled need in a college town, among other successful business ventures, Blake was featured on The Amazing Race, and his Argentinian portion was where the One-for-One business model was born.
Inspired by the idea that no child should ever have to be without protection for their feet, Blake established the first social entrepreneurial enterprise, and by 2013, had donated over 10 million pairs of shoes.
“TOMS has since expanded its product offering, to include One-for-One sustainable lines that donate eyewear, safe drinking water, and birthing delivery kits.
