Brittany Maynard, a 29-year-old diagnosed with terminal cancer who has received recent national attention for her choice to die on her own terms, released a video sharing her thoughts with friends. Ethan Hallmark, a 13-year-old who was also diagnosed with terminal cancer decided to also share his thoughts with his friends, but his message is quite different.
“You guys made a huge impact on this journey. I can't imagine it without you. You stood by me in the hardest parts and there's not a minute I've been in treatment without your support," Ethan said while reading his letter.
Not only does Ethan reflect on the impact of his friends as a physical support system but also God as a major support system.
"At times it felt like God was far away but he was right there in my friends,” said Hallmark. “Keep putting your faith in God and always remember he is with you even in the depths of suffering. He's good. Love you guys."
His faith and courage in the face of adversity is displayed in the new 45-minute I Am Second documentary “Many are the Wonders, The Second Story of Ethan Hallmark, which can be viewed here.
