Door County, Wisconsin
Door County is basically the “thumb” of Wisconsin that extends into Lake Michigan. It offers 300 miles of shoreline, five state parks, eleven lighthouses, and plenty of outdoor adventure in a relaxed setting. After you unwind and enjoy the beaches and other outdoor activities, head to nearby Green Bay. The tour of the Packers’ Lambeau Field is not to be missed. You can also explore the museums, breweries (most are kid-friendly), zoo and amusement parks. If you have more time, drive to Wisconsin Dells, the “Waterpark Capital of the World.” A final note-- at some point in your visit to Wisconsin, you must try the cheese curds, preferably fried.
