Rather than a "no caffeine" rule, it's widely acknowledged that *minimal* caffeine is safe for both mom and baby. The overall goal is to avoid it, but given caffeine is in so many foods and drinks (tea, soda, chocolate, protein bars, the list goes on - and even decaf coffee!). The general rule most doctors stick to these days is total intake should be about the equivalent of 2 cups of coffee per day, even if one of those "cups" is from caffeine in foods. But be warned - this "loving" advice might not be warmly received, especially in the morning!
