No One Else Will Represent You Like You

Remember that time your sibling let you take the fall and you didn’t even have a hand in the situation? But your parents were so upset and scolded you for ‘knowing better’ and not setting a good example for your siblings. You remember that time pretty vividly, huh?

Moments, like this, teach you early on that you are the only one that can represent you. If you have something to say, then say it. You’re the only person that can speak up and give your honest opinion or reasoning. While you’ll have friends and family to provide you support, throughout your life, it’s important to stand on your own two legs and be self sufficient.

Relationships are Challenging

Before your first girlfriend or boyfriend and before you meet your first real best friend, you’ll have a relationship with your sibling. This relationship will test you and give your anger, frustration, happiness, sadness and well – a sense of reality. Our relationships with siblings provide us with the groundwork of how we are to act and respect our future relationships.

There will be good days and there will be bad days but if you have to learn to accept the good with the bad. You have to be able to outweigh the bad with the great memories that you’ve shared and are continuing to produce. Your sibling is a healthy dose of reality and will test your limits so that you can become the best version of you.
