Make a Heart Shaped Cake

Get your children involved in helping to make this heart-shaped cake with the pans you already have in your kitchen.

1. Bake two layers—one in a round pan and one is a square cake pan with the same diameter (length across the middle) of the round one.

2. Pour half of the cake batter into each pan trying to make them even. Bake as directed.

3. After the layers have cooled, put the square layer on a large serving platter or tray in a diamond position. Cut the round layer in half to make two half circles. Put the cut sides of each half against the top sides of the diamond. And you have a heart cake! You can use a little icing to “glue” the pieces together.

4. Decorate with your favorite frosting and then cover with red candy hearts or cinnamon candies.
