Ages 10 and Older

As your child gets to the age of 10 and older, you should feel more comfortable with giving them added responsibilties.

They're now becoming pre-teens and need to learn the basics of the household, as you are essentially training them for later in life. Here are chores that can be added to their list:

- Clean bathroom
- Wash windows
- Wash and vaccuum car
- Cook simple meal with supervision (Set a day of the week where the children are responsible for cooking.)
- Iron clothes and do laundry (Prepare yourself for bleach stains and color-distoration, for the first few weeks. Eventually they'll get the hang of it.)
- Baby-sit younger siblings (with adult in the home)
- Clean kitchen (dishes, wipe countertops, mop, etc.)
- Change their bed sheets
