INGREDIENTS:
1 pound extra lean ground beef
1 (6-ounce) box seasoned croutons, divided
1 (4-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten and divided
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 green bell pepper, seeded, deveined and chopped
1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
1 tomato, sliced
TO PREPARE:
In a large bowl, combine beef, 1 cup seasoned croutons, tomato sauce, chili powder, onion, salt and 1 egg. Mix well and press into sides and bottom of a 9-inch pie pan.
In a separate bowl, combine remaining croutons, egg, mushrooms, green pepper and cheese. Mix well and layer on top of beef crust. Arrange tomato slices over pie.
