5 Steps to Dealing with a Challenging Relationship
There are many different types of relationships in our lives; romantic, sibling, friendship, co-workers, etc..., and we know with certainty that these relationships require effort to maintain; we must have open communication, love, compassion, and tolerance for each other in order for these relationships to prosper. We have all experienced times when certain relationships begin feeling like too much work, leaving us exhausted and tempting us to shut the door on that person forever.
While I generally agree that one should walk away from a relationship that does help foster positive growth, I also challenge this concept. Why? Because I believe that nothing in life happens by accident and that every relationship we have exists to teach us lessons and help us grow - especially the challenging ones.
Here are my five steps to dealing with a challenging relationship:
