You feel cornered.
In dysfunctional relationships, both partners can feel trapped or cornered, often in situations where they didn’t want problems in the first place. You may feel pressured or guilted into certain actions or reactions out of fear of the situation escalating. You may also feel like you’re isolated from family, from friends and the things you like to do. When a man or a woman feels trapped in their relationship, they will seriously contemplate walking away because the relationship produces great emotional stress. However, they may not get out of the relationship because they are drawn to the dysfunction. If these feelings keep occurring, there is something wrong.
