Signs He Thinks You’re the One For Him

You two have been together for a while. You’ve experienced the thrill of the highs and banded together to pull through the lows that come with any relationship. You are sure that he is the one for you, but does he fell the same way? How can you tell if he thinks you’re the one for him?

Judging how someone else feels about you is a challenge. We unconsciously look for hints that what we want them to think is what they actually think. It can be difficult to determine what optimism is and what reality is. Separating the two can also lead to second-guessing everything you see and overanalyzing his every word.

If you don’t want to ask him if he thinks you’re the one for him, what do you do? What does a man usually do when he finds that special girl?

Every man is different and so is every relationship. No two men are going to act exactly the same around the girl they think is the one. There are, however, certain things that will tell a woman that her man thinks she’s it for him. Here are seven common signs that indicate he thinks you’re the one for him.

He Confides in You

If he tells you his hopes and dreams, his uncertainties and fears, he is looking for something long-term. Confiding in someone helps create an emotional bond and a deep intimacy between two people. It also speaks to a strong degree of comfort. If he is confiding in you, then he is certain that you will keep his secrets. He shows how he trust you when he whispers his secret hope of one day owning a greenhouse filled with nothing but different kinds of tulips.

If he talks to you about the little things that make him happy and the strange things that worry him, he’s not looking for a short-term relationship. He wants you by his side for a long time. Confiding in someone is a way of investing in the relationship. It means he expects you will be there for a long time. If he’s opening up to you, he’s might think you’re the one.

He Will Be Vulnerable Around You

It can be nerve-wracking to open up to someone. You have to trust that the other person isn’t going to laugh at your insecurities or brush off your fears. That level of trust isn’t easy to build, nor is it something to take lightly. If your man is willing to be vulnerable around you, he thinks you are there to stay.

He can show his vulnerability to you in any number of ways. He might admit that he is worried about being passed over for a promotion or express how sad he was when he wasn’t able to go see his little sister play in the championship game.

Vulnerabilities revolve around positive emotions as well. If he tells you how much he loves birdwatching, he is making himself vulnerable. He trusts that you won’t laugh at him or sneer at something he enjoys. If he has that level of trust with you, he’s worked hard to build it with you. No one invests that kind of energy into a relationship they expect to be over by the end of the season.

He Enjoys Spending Time With You

If he doesn’t look forward to spending time with you, you aren’t the one for him. A long-term relationship is dependent upon emotional intimacy and good communication. Neither of those are possible without spending time together.

Time spent together doesn’t always need to be exciting. While romantic, candlelit dinners or exciting days at an amusement park are wonderful, a long-term relationship needs to hold strong through the quiet times as well. He thinks you’re the one for him if he is content to have your company, even if you two are simply conversing. Working side by side in the garden can be just as important to developing your relationship as dinner dates, and those evenings spent doing nothing together are a better indication that he is thinking long-term. If he is happy to read a book with you or curl up next to you and watch the news, he thinks you’re it for him.

You Know Each Other’s Friends and Family

A relationship won’t last if he isn’t comfortable with your friends or having you around his. If he is flattered when you invite him to join your friends, he might think you are the one. If he’s happy to be the only man at the table when you and your friends meet for lunch, he cares enough about you to be thinking long term.

He might think you are the one if he is happy to have you join him and the boys for a ball-game or if he invites you to join him and his friends when they go out. It shows the he is proud of being in a relationship with you and wants his friends to like you, too.

However close you might end up with his friends, if you haven’t met his parents yet, he doesn’t think you’re the one for him. Meeting the parents is often a big step in a relationship and shows that he is thinking long-term. He wants you to be comfortable with his family and wants them to approve of you. So if he invites you to join his family for Sunday dinner, it might mean he thinks you’re the one for him.

He Includes You in Future Plans

If he thinks you’re the one for him, he wants you to be with him years from now. He mentions you when he talks about the future both with you and with his friends. He might mention that he wants to live in the suburbs one day and ask how you feel about leaving the city. He could ask how many children you would want or what your thoughts are on a destination wedding.

When he wants you to be part of his future he makes sure you have a say in it. He talks to you before taking a job that requires him to move across the country or before agreeing to a promotion that requires a great deal of travel. If he isn’t asking for your thoughts on long-term plans or picturing you with him ten years down the road, then he may not think you’re the one.

He is Attentive to Your Needs and Moods

He notices when your boss is driving you crazy and lets you rant to him. He pulls you into a hug when you learn your best friend is moving away. He knows you well enough to know how you are going to react to certain situations and responds accordingly. If you hate human contact when you are sick, he makes it a point to be out of the house when you have a cold. If he knows what you need and gives it to you, it is likely he thinks you’re the one for him.

He is also good at reading you. As soon as you walk through the door, he knows if you need a hug or want some space. It only takes a glance for him to know that he’s cooking tonight because you are too tired to do anything. He sometimes grabs your hand and announces that you two are eating dinner at your favorite Chinese place when he knows you desperately want to get out of the house. If he thinks you’re the one for him, he pays close attention to you and what you need at any time.

He Makes Little, Meaningful Gestures

When he brings you a pint of your favorite pistachio ice cream after a long day or helps you brush your hair, he thinks you are the one for him. He has watched you closely enough to know what you like and how to help you at any time. You are the most important woman in his life, and he wants to prove that to you.

The gestures are usually little. He might make sure that he picks up your favorite kind of pizza to celebrate your promotion or make it a point to do some extra work around the house when you haven’t been feeling well. When he thinks you’re the one for him, he shows in his actions that he is always thinking of you. He finds little things that make you feel special or make you smile. Whether it is buying extra blackberries at the store or agreeing to watch your soap opera instead of the game, he makes it clear that you are his priority.
