Nancy and Richard Trimmer died 12 hours apart after they both faced serious health problems. Nancy died in her sleep and when the children broke the news to their dad, who was recovering from a fall at the hospital, he was heartbroken. Over the past few years, Richard battled kidney failure, lung cancer and other heart problems. However, despite the setbacks the couple remained inseparable and stood by each others' side.

"Pull me up and hold me tighter now," said Richard - a moment before he took his last breath. His children believe that he was talking to Nancy in heaven. The couple were high school sweethearts; they had six children and ten grandchildren. The couple was married 61 years.
