Fit To Be Teed
ne Sunday was such a picture-perfect day--not a cloud in the sky, and warm--that the preacher was overcome with the urge to play golf. He called the vestry president and told him he was too sick for services, then drove three hours to a golf course where no one would recognize him.
An angel brought the situation to God's attention. "He should be punished," the angel sighed, and God nodded in agreement. On the first hole, the preacher's ball sailed 350 yards and landed right in the cup--for a double eagle! The preacher was amazed and excited, but the angel was a little shocked. He turned to God and said, "Begging Your pardon, but I thought you were going to punish him." God smiled. "Think about it. Who can he tell?"
