Turmeric has a long stalk that has been used for centuries to help digestion, fight inflammation, prevent Alzheimer’s and relieve arthritis. The yellow spice also flavors, rice, curry, mustard, chutneys, along with many other dishes. Researchers found in the 1970s how turmeric possesses anti-inflammatory properties. Some studies found that it could prevent cancer while protecting vital organs in chemotherapy patients.
