Make your own baked goods as many are loaded with chemicals. Preservatives like Tartrazine is made from coal tar and is often used to color foods like cakes and cookies and this impairs the immune system. Also, BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene) is found in commercial cookies and is used to preserve them and does the same thing. However, making your own cookies will not only keep you from this infliction, but it tastes much greater. Chocolate chips cookies are super easy to get you started. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt in a small bowl. Add 1 stick of butter, 3/4 granulated sugar, 3/4 brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a large bowl until creamy. Add 2 eggs and then add the flour mixture. Stir in 2 cups chocolate chips and 1 cup of walnuts nuts. Drop (spoon size) onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. You might never go back to processed cookies again.
