If you have not heard much about genetically modified (GM) foods, you probably live in America.
GM foods are big news—and banned substances—in many parts of the world. Here in the U.S. they are not only legal, GM foods do not even have to identify themselves as such on the label. Scientists tinker with a plant’s DNA (genetic modification) to create a GM food. Proponents of GM foods say they are beneficial because they allow for better harvests (and thus lower prices).
But are they good for us?
