Weighted Vest
You can wear a weighted vest for strength training exercises (think squats, lunges, push-ups, etc.) or during walks, hikes or runs. This is much safer than carrying dumbbells or wearing ankle weights while you walk as they cause added stress on the joints. (Caution: Ensure you can exercise for at least 20 minutes without the vest before wearing one.) Vests are available in a variety of sizes and weights. Some allow you to adjust the vest by adding or removing units of weight from pockets built into the vest.
