Finding Hope
Teri Garr was diagnosed with MS and has worked to bring more awareness by using her connections in Hollywood. Best known for her work in the film “Tootsie” in 1981, Garr was initially afraid to come out about her diagnoses in 2002. In an interview with Every Day Heath she changed her mind and stepped out.
”Speaking out about multiple sclerosis to others who may be dealing with this disease is actually helpful to me, as well as, I hope, to others. It builds community, helps bring awareness to MS, and strengthens the MS movement that will ultimately lead to the end of this disease.”
