Drinking too Much Caffeine
Drinking coffee or caffeinated tea will hamper sleep, so refrain from drinking it late in the afternoon. Caffeine can cause heart arrhythmias, agitation, disrupt sleep, and it can stay in the body up to six hours. You could be losing up to an hour of sleep if caffeine is still in the system, but that is not all. Pay attention to the sugar intake in your beloved drinks. Sugar can be found in foods, sodas, and energy drinks. Try limiting coffee, tea, or soft drinks during the afternoons, and cut back on high-sugar beverages. If you can’t keep track, try a food journal to record your caffeine and sugar consumption during a given day.
