Postpone Your Craving
Instead of giving in at the drop of the hat, postpone your craving until a later time. This will not only give you time to re-think your splurge but it will help you weigh out the pros and cons of your indulgence. If you say no automatically, your brain will experience a war between eating and depriving yourself from the food. If you opt to eat it later, then there won’t be a war and you’ll have time to become level headed and make a more justifiable conclusion. When you move the thought of consumption to the future, the need of eating and indulging is no longer in your immediate thought process and the craving will slowly dissipate.
